Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy corrected CNN’s Dana Bash during a post-GOP 2024 debate, highlighting how recently released footage of the January 6 events challenges the anti-Trump narrative propagated by her network and other media outlets.
Bash questioned Ramaswamy’s assertion that January 6 was likely “an inside job,” unaware of the footage made public by House Speaker Mike Johnson. The footage contradicts the narrative of a “Trump-incited riot” and reveals instances of Capitol Police actions such as throwing explosives into peaceful crowds and guiding protesters into the building. The footage also suggests the presence of undercover FBI agents in the crowds.
Despite Bash’s insistence on the media narrative of an “attack,” Ramaswamy emphasized the need for a thorough investigation into the events of January 6, countering the attempt to dismiss his perspective as a “conspiracy theory.”
