Democrats often struggle with comprehending the views of their political opponents, a weakness that was glaringly apparent after Donald Trump’s unexpected win over Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election. Despite this, it appears they may have another opportunity to learn from their mistakes in the upcoming 2024 presidential race, as highlighted by MSNBC host and former White House press secretary Jen Psaki.

Psaki correctly pointed out the danger posed by a strong third-party candidate to President Joe Biden’s chances of re-election, but she once again failed to fully grasp the appeal of the opposition, this time in the form of independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. During an appearance on “Morning Joe,” Psaki discussed the significant challenge that Kennedy could pose to Biden’s campaign.

“These third-party candidates are a huge, huge, huge problem, and there’s a number of them,” Psaki said.

The host of “Inside With Jen Psaki” proceeded to mention Kennedy specifically, highlighting his widespread recognition in locations such as “Georgia … where the Kennedy name is beloved.”

Psaki warned he might be popular because voters “may just not know a lot about the fact that he is an anti-vaxxer, who’s a conspiracy theorist.”

The host of “Inside With Jen Psaki” proceeded to mention Kennedy specifically, highlighting his widespread recognition in locations such as “Georgia … where the Kennedy name is highly regarded.”

“But it needs to be broad, people need to be shouting it from the rooftops, because this is one of the biggest threats to Joe Biden being re-elected, is these third-party candidates,” Psaki said.
