Tucker Carlson, the former host of Fox News, has officially confirmed the rumors and announced his highly anticipated interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The speculation surrounding Carlson’s visit to Moscow has been increasing, with many wondering if he would have the opportunity to interview Putin.
As the world’s leading independent journalist, Carlson arrived in the Russian capital earlier this month and was seen attending the Bolshoi Theater, according to Russian news outlet Mash. This led to various rumors and speculations about the purpose of his visit.
On Monday, a video was published by Russian newspaper Izvestia, showing Carlson responding to a question about the possibility of interviewing Putin. In his response, Carlson simply stated, “We’ll see.” When the person behind the camera mentioned that news of his visit to Russia had caused a stir in the United States, Carlson dismissed it by saying, “They’re crazy, really crazy.”
During a broadcast on state TV channel Russia-1, Margarita Simonyan, the editor-in-chief of the Russian state-controlled media organization RT, formerly Russia Today, revealed that Carlson had expressed his desire to interview Putin in August.
“Tucker is doing a great job,” she said.
“By the way, he’s really asking for an interview with Vladimir Putin!
“It would be great if someone hears this and gets this message to the president.”
Several weeks later, Carlson disclosed that the administration of Democrat President Joe Biden was preventing him from conducting an interview with Putin.
“I tried to interview Vladimir Putin, and the U.S. government stopped me,” he told Swiss magazine Die Weltwoche in an article published in September.
“By the way, nobody defended me.
“I don’t think there was anybody in the news media who said, ‘Wait a second. I may not like this guy, but he has a right to interview anyone he wants, and we have a right to hear what Putin says.’
“You’re not allowed to hear Putin’s voice.
“Because why? There was no vote on it.
“No one asked me,” Carlson said.
“I’m 54 years old.
“I’ve paid my taxes and followed the law.”
Carlson took to social media on Tuesday to address the ongoing rumors and make a significant announcement regarding his upcoming interview with Putin. In his latest video, he not only confirmed the authenticity of the rumors but also revealed that the complete interview will be released in the near future.
