According to local reports, a Democratic candidate running for a local position in Texas has been taken into custody and charged with a serious crime. It is alleged that Taral Patel, who was nominated as the Democratic candidate for Fort Bend County Precinct 3 commissioner, created fake social media accounts to spread false racist attacks against himself.

In September 2023, Patel made a post on his Facebook account claiming that his opponents’ supporters, who were affiliated with the Republican party, had engaged in hurling racist, anti-immigrant, Hinduphobic, and other offensive insults. He even attached screenshots of these alleged statements made by county residents. However, after an investigation conducted by the Fort Bend County District Attorney’s office and the Texas Rangers, it was discovered that Patel himself was responsible for these racist messages. This incident has been reported by local outlets, including the Houston Chronicle.

“We don’t need more sand negroid subhumans who smell like curry and filth in our country,” one comment flagged by Patel reads. “If I see you wearing that dot on your head, I’ll wipe it off myself,” another reads.

Patel reportedly utilized an image of an actual individual residing in Fort Bend County for a fraudulent profile, as per Houston Public Media. The individual informed the district attorney’s office that Patel lacked authorization to use his image. Patel was apprehended by the Texas Rangers on Wednesday for cyber impersonation, a third-degree felony, and identity misrepresentation, a misdemeanor, as stated by ABC 13. Patel posted a total bond of $22,250, which was settled on Thursday morning.
