(The Post Millennial) – BLM, Antifa and transgender activists brawled with New York City Police officers and vandalized the USS Maine National Monument Thursday night in Manhattan.

The activists marched to different points in mid town Manhattan including the New York Times headquarters where they chanted “F*** The New York Times.”

The activists marched to the USS Maine National Monument at Columbus Circle, near the entrance to Central Park, where they vandalized the statue while raising trans rights flags.

The monument commemorates the sailors killed about the ship when it was sunk by an explosion on February 15 1898 which led to the start of the Spanish-American War. Activists defaced it with spray painted slogans such as “ACAB,” (All Cops are Bastards) and “F*** 12” (F*** the police).

Police followed the march throughout the evening and moved in to stop the vandalism, at which time the activists resisted resulting in a brawl with the NYPD. 6 people were arrested.

Activists also hurled misogynistic insults at a female NYPD officer.

The NYPD posted on Twitter, “We respect’s everyone right to peacefully protest, but vandalism is not part of peaceful protest. We are working to de-escalate the situation to prevent further damage from occurring.”
