(SNews) – Far-left MSNBC analyst Elie Mystal has come under fire after he suggested Supreme Court Justice Samual Alito deserved to die.

Mystal, a correspondent for The Nation, suggested a “rich white person” should take Alito to “see the Titanic.”

He made the comment after hearing reports of a missing tourist submersible.

The Titan sub is still missing and the people on board are now not expected to be found alive.

Mystal was slammed for “wishing death” on Alito.

After a widespread backlash, he tried to walk back the comment to save himself from a visit from authorities by claiming it was just a “joke.”

Mystal said: “Next time some rich white person wants to take Sam Alito on an expensive trip, please take him to see the Titanic.”

A conservative commentator called him out, saying, “This is vile.”

Mystal responded, “That was a joke. This is vile.”

He then linked a Supreme Court decision he didn’t like, betraying his earlier words.

Republican Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) slammed Mystal’s comments as “Outrageous.”

“For months we’ve seen leftists hellbent on destroying the integrity of our Supreme Court with incessant attacks,” Cruz said.

“Outwardly wishing death on one of our finest Justices is truly beyond the pale.”

Daily Caller Nicole Silverio said:

“Does @MSNBC condone its contributors and staffers using this kind of rhetoric?”
