Jill Stein, the presidential candidate representing the Green Party, was apprehended on Saturday while participating in a demonstration on campus. In order to ensure that her arrest receives the desired attention from the campaign, Stein shared a video of the incident on the social media platform X.

According to KDSK-TV in St. Louis, Stein, who has managed to garner support from leftist individuals who believe that President Joe Biden’s policies are not sufficiently leftist, was one of the 80 individuals apprehended on Saturday. Stein informed the station that she was accused of assault. As per KDSK’s report, she was taken into custody shortly before 7:30 p.m. on Saturday and was subsequently released at 1:30 a.m. on Sunday.

“I sat a long time sitting alone in a cell, and I had no idea— ‘Did anybody even know I was there?’ I was separated from the group, and I was like, ‘Am I going be there all night or in here for a week?’” she said. Stein, howver, she was the civtim.

“I got separated from the rest of the crowd, you know, and actually initially felt like there was a lot of safety in numbers. Then, it turned out I was being charged with assault after being assaulted by an officer on a bicycle and basically thrown onto my head,” she said.

The university has announced that all individuals who were apprehended will be charged with trespassing. Additionally, certain protesters will face charges for resisting arrest and assault, as they caused injuries to the Washington University police. The protest group at Washington University is demanding that the college dismiss all charges and suspensions against students who participated in the protest. They are also calling for a boycott of Boeing, which supplies warplanes to both Israel and the United States military. Furthermore, they are advocating for a boycott of any Israeli educational institution, the return of land to indigenous communities, and a public condemnation of Israel for its conflict with Hamas terrorists.
