Vice President Kamala Harris returned to her familiar surroundings over the weekend in Hollywood, where she socialized with celebrities and studio executives, while millions of Americans in other regions continued to confront the severe destruction caused by Hurricane Helene.

Kamala Harris reportedly expressed her delight to be back home, stating, “Oh, it’s good to be home!” to the audience gathered for a Harris-Walz fundraiser at the JW Marriott in downtown Los Angeles on Sunday afternoon.

Her focus on Hollywood celebrities, rather than addressing the needs of the millions affected by Hurricane Helene, has led to unfavorable media coverage for her campaign. Former President Donald Trump is scheduled to visit the storm-impacted areas of Georgia on Monday to aid in the distribution of relief supplies. In light of this situation, Kamala Harris decided to shorten her fundraising tour and return to Washington, D.C. on Monday morning.

Attendees at the Harris-Walz fundraiser included notable figures such as Demi Lovato, Stevie Wonder, Jessica Alba, Lily Tomlin, and Sterling K. Brown, as reported by various sources. The event also featured former Disney executive and Democratic fundraiser Jeffrey Katzenberg, along with Universal’s Donna Langley and public relations expert Kelly Bush Novak. The event reportedly generated over $28 million for the Harris-Walz campaign.

Throughout the weekend, Kamala Harris mingled with celebrities while millions of Americans in the southeastern region continued to recover from the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene. President Joe Biden informed reporters that the federal government would not be providing additional resources to those affected by the hurricane.
