An MSNBC correspondent, reporting on Wednesday from Mojave County, Arizona, appeared taken aback upon discovering that no individuals participating in early voting had cast their ballots for Vice President Kamala Harris.
“We did not find a single person who audibly would tell us that they voted for Kamala. These were Trump supporters getting out to vote early in the all-important Mojave County,” he said.
Several voters interviewed by MSNBC shared their motivations for participating in early voting. For many, this was their initial experience of voting prior to Election Day, and they credited this choice to Trump’s explicit encouragement.
“Honestly, because Donald Trump told me to,” one voter said.
A different voter who abstained from voting in 2020 expressed that their reason for participating in the upcoming election is the present direction of the country.
