Former Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz revealed during his interview with CBS’ “60 Minutes” that he had never received any communication from President Joe Biden or Vice President Kamala Harris throughout his tenure until his retirement in the spring of 2023. This lack of engagement from the leading figures in the Biden administration adds to the mounting evidence that they prioritize other issues over border security, further reinforcing the argument of their complete betrayal of the United States.
“I’ve never had one conversation with the president or the vice president, for that matter,” Ortiz recalled.
“And so, I was the chief of the Border Patrol. I commanded 21,000 people,” he said. “That’s a problem.”
Shortly after, Vega addressed Ortiz’s critique of the Biden administration.
“Do you believe that the White House has sent mixed messages to migrants?” she asked.
“Yeah, most definitely,” he replied.
In addition to providing a platform for the former Border Patrol chief to reveal the reality about Biden and Harris, Vega predominantly echoed the viewpoints of the established authorities.
For instance, in the past few months, Texas has been in conflict with the federal government due to their inability to effectively secure the border. In this context, Vega attempted to portray Republican Gov. Greg Abbott of Texas as a contemporary version of Jefferson Davis.
“Governor Abbott argued the federal government had failed to fulfill its obligation to the states. And in that, some heard echoes of Texas’ history of rebellion and threats of secession,” she said in a voice-over.
Later on, Vega’s genuine allegiance became evident when she earnestly considered one of the most heinous bills ever presented in the U.S. Senate.
“President Biden says that if Republicans were serious about securing the border, they would not have rejected a bipartisan immigration deal in the Senate last month after former President Trump opposed it,” she said in another voice-over.
The immigration deal that was proposed included provisions for increased funding for foreign wars and allowed for 5,000 illegal crossings per day before implementing any security measures. Former President Donald Trump strongly criticized the deal, describing it as “horrendous,” while Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson went even further, stating that it was “even worse than we expected.” However, on February 7, the Senate voted against the bill with a narrow margin of 50-49.
It is worth noting that the coverage of the border crisis by CBS News program “60 Minutes” is significant. It indicates that the mainstream media believes it is necessary to shape the narrative on illegal immigration in favor of their powerful interests. Additionally, “60 Minutes” provided a platform for Ortiz to report on the gross negligence of President Biden and Vice President Harris.
This raises the question of whether media outlets have been instructed to adhere to certain talking points while also creating an opportunity for the establishment to distance itself from the president and vice president.
The decision by CBS to broadcast Ortiz’s interview was unexpected, considering that his report on the negligence of Biden and Harris was not surprising. Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin, who regularly covers illegal immigration, expressed astonishment at Ortiz’s comments in a post on the social media platform X.
“Wow,” Melugin said.
He then recalled a number of “high profile events” that occurred during Ortiz’s tenure as Border Patrol chief.
“And the White House allegedly doesn’t speak to the Chief overseeing 20,000 agents on the front lines?” Melugin said.
Wow.
Raul Ortiz, who served as the Chief of U.S. Border Patrol under Biden from August 2021 through May 2023, says he has never had a conversation with Biden or VP Kamala Harris.
Think about how many high profile events happened in that stretch.
